Apple Season

I could almost cry. It is apple season. We walked down to our local farm stand by the school house and the peaches are gone, but there are apples. Tears of joy and nostalgia.

So many feel-goods from childhood (our small town is filled with orchards) and the scent is something like magic. A farmstead filled with apples doesn’t smell like apple pie, it smells like fresh, crisp apples. And it is so good. And while this year doesn’t feel the same, I know there will be more slow time for walking down the road and visiting the farmstead that smells like fresh apples and for that I am thankful.

I’ve rounded up all of my favorite apple season recipes like this French Apple Cake from years ago.
