Sunday Rolls

If you are a “real” baker, this might be offensive to you. However, if you are not – you are welcome. When I take 2 minutes early in the day to set out store-bought freezer dough rolls to let them rise on the counter, then bake just before dinner, the house smells like fresh baked bread. These warm, pillowy rolls are what everyone grabs at as we sit down to dinner. And they tase like home.

Frozen Dough Rolls 1 egg
1/2 pound of butter 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

For Rolls : Follow baking directions on the package.

Typical Instructions : Place 12 frozen dough balls on a small parchment lined baking sheet. Allow to thaw and rise, about 3-5 hours. When doubled in size, brush with an egg wash and bake at 300 for 10-12 minutes.

Soft Salty Butter : Leave butter out on the counter for 3+ hours (up to overnight). Stir in a 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt (flaked Maldon Brand is my favorite).
