In the spring, I shared the new plan for my textile and soft-goods collections. In the past, our materials were hand-blocked printed in India. While I loved the artistry involved, it came with many challenges… not to mention the tremendous trip over the ocean that left us waiting and wondering.
I worked to find a fabric printing production facility in the US that specializes in textile home goods. The process has been fascinating, from working with the craftsman that create the screens, to meeting the woman who mixes the colors, to seeing our new fabrics rolling off the presses. I’ll share photos of the facility and the process sometime soon.
The beauty of this new process is the ability to re-run favorites easily so we won’t sell out of our most popular designs. Each season we’ll start with some pre-made inventory ready to ship, and will be able to custom produce any extra that are ordered over our starting inventory in a 2-4 week window. If the fabric needs to be re-ordered, we’ll have it ready in 6-8 weeks.
We have new color ways and different designs that we’ll be releasing each season to add to our library of fabrics, but most (if not all) will still be available to order. I love taking time with projects at our house and I hope this new process will take the rush to order feeling out of the equation for you.
This collection is really the building block of all of the collections. I relied on favorite colors that I fall back on in our home every season and in between – English Blue, a soft grayish blue, and Hosta Green, a natural muted green. We’ll have pillow covers, tablecloths, runners, napkins, tea towels and yardage in each of these five designs.
The Classic Collection will launch Friday, July 15th at 8am central.
