Candy Cane Cookies | A Classic

I love an old fashioned looking cookie.  We made these using my basic (but most delicious) sugar cookie dough (recipe here) by tinting half of the dough red.  Emma and I made “snakes” out of dough, then twisted them up.  The beauty of these is that there is no decorating – once they are baked, they are finished. It was a great hands-on activity while we watched a Christmas movie.  I especially love how they look mixed with a batch of gingerbread cookies on a platter… next on the list : )

As always, I baked them on a Large Baking Sheet with Natural Parchment Paper, available here.
